CHARACTERS WOT MISS IN ACTION
These are the non suck members of Ebisugoro's gang. Funakigoro is the actual leader and the rest are his tough guy cohorts. Some of them were pretty close to making an appearance in the comic until it ended actually. I wa debating making an extra chapter focusing on Hen and Choku's friends at night, being attacked because of what happened with the rumble, but never got around to it. When I created the characters for the video game, they all had stupid gimmick attacks that I was going to play off for jokes.
The late night park attack girls! So... the story had an activity Mayo could occupy herself for each part of the day. Morning, afternoon, and night. You'd choose one on the first day, and follow it's story for the rest of the game. This was from one of the night stories, where women were being attacked in the park and you'd have to catch the person that was doing it. Naturally, this kind of story had no place in the comic so I didn't consider putting any of the characters in at all as soon as I started drawing the comic.
Suigai was a suicidal character that thought he led a cherished life. So you'd bump into him randomly in a certain spot and have to convince him not to kill himself... and if you missed one of your chances then you'd find him dead! I thought of including him in the comic a little, but not really. I didn't think about putting any of the other characters in at all, because they are the characters from the BANK ROBBING story. BANK ROBBING. Mayo was going to be a BANK ROBBER MAYBE! Fedi and Jan are the guys that would work with her. Fedi being a pretty straight cartoon drawing of a hood, and Jan being what you get when I draw 50 tiny characters in a notebook in a week and run out of ideas. Basically, every day Fedi would choose a new place to hit, and then you'd hit it. Heik was a bumbling investigator that would miss very obvious clues and you'd have the option of selling Fedi out to him, and Otoji-san was the weapons dealer that you used to arm yourself for the heists.
I left Urara's pic in because those are her pals! On the top, anyways. On the bottom are her rivals. Mayo was going to have the option of joining up with either side and then spend the rest of hte game picking on the other half. It was pretty stupid so I didn't consider putting any of them in the comic either.(though I may have if I showed Ururu around some of her own friends, but all of their personalities would have been changed drastically if that happened) Ururu survived simply because she was Urara's sister.
Finally, the dance competition! Because why not? Absolutely no way I was going to put them in at all, which is a shame, because Buster is quite the dancer. So yeah, that's the rundown of all of all the characters I made up for the game that didn't make it into the comic! When I decided to make a comic instead of a game, the concept changed completely, from a goofy adventure game to the sort of nothing happens story I've always been interested in. Part of the reason that I made the comic instead of the game is that the game would have taken a long time. Years, possibly. Having spent 2 years on a comic that takes about 4 hours to read, I may have been better off just making the game! But I'm glad I didn't as I was pretty burned out on programming around that time. |
